BET’s “Sistas” Star KJ just revealed that she’s having her first child by husband Skyh Black.
The two recently got married and are now welcoming their first bundle of joy.

In an ESSENCE exclusive, Ku Smith and Skyh Black are expecting their first child together!
For the actress, love, faith, and family began with a prayer. “I wrote a list in my journal 10 years ago,” Smith told ESSENCE.
“I showed [Skyh Black] the list, and he had every quality. I prayed with my vision, and God blessed me.”
The couple married on September 3, 2023, at The Malibu Dream Resort, surrounded by 150 guests, including Tyler Perry and the stars of Sistas and All The Queens Men.
Now, the newlyweds are preparing for their biggest role yet-parenthood.
Smith, who once believed motherhood wasn’t in the cards due to fibroids and PCOS, became pregnant naturally just before beginning IVF. “I didn’t want kids. I wanted to be a rich auntie,” she admits.
“Then I met a man who made me believe it was possible.”
Now five months pregnant, Smith is embracing the journey with grace and grit, adding, “God loved me enough to allow me this experience.”
